Microchipping

You would be lost without your pet

Of course you care for your pet. However, even the best loved and trained animals can escape or get lost - they could get out accidentally through doors left open by children or visitors, be frightened by loud or strange noises, wander off whilst on holiday ... the possibilities are endless.

Whatever the reason, you can't be sure that a collar and tag will still be there and be legible when the animal is found.

The frightening facts

Every day unidentified pets are humanely destroyed in animal homes throughout the country. Many of these animals could have been reunited with their worried owners if only they could have been identified.

What can you do?

The good news is that there is a simple way to ensure your pet can easily be identified wherever he or she goes.

There are over 2 million animals in the UK with an idENTICHIP.

idENTICHIP - the permanent answer

idENTICHIP is a tiny microchip with an identification code unique to you and your pet. It is injected under the skin in the same way that the vet regularly vaccinates against disease.

When your pet is picked up, a wdely available scanner will detect the idENTICHIP and read the unique code in much the same way as barcodes are read at supermarket checkouts. All your idENTICHIP details are recorded on a computer database, which is centrally available 24 hours a day. When your details are retrieved you will contacted immediately.

Scanners are routinely used by rescue kennels and dog wardens all over the country. Their use is also standard procedure at veterinary practices, RSPCA homes, the Cats Protection League and by many welfare societies.

If you have more than one pet, each one can be identified seperately and each will be given its own unique identification code.

Pet friendly

idENTICHIP is completely safe for your pet and causes no more discomfort than any other injection. In dogs and cats it is permanently placed in the loose skin on the back of the neck and can be used in pets of any age, breed or species.

The Veterinary Centre recommends all pets are idENTICHIPPED.

Ask The Veterinary Centre

You want to be sure that your pet is always identifiable and always traceable to you. If you are attending the practice for a routine check-up or booster injection why not ask if your pet can be idENTICHIPPED at the same time?

How would you feel if your pet was missing?

Is it worth the risk?
