Our Services
At The Veterinary Centre we offer a wide range of services for you and your pet, from a simple worming or flea treatment to complex surgery and specialist dermatology referrals. A member of our staff is always happy to listen and help you with any concerns you may have regarding your pets health. Listed below are some of the services we have to offer.
Consultations with a Veterinary Surgeon
Whether your pet is showing obvious signs of illness or injury or just 'not himself', one of our three full time veterinary surgeons will be happy to discuss ANY health issue regardless of how minor it may seem. Consultations are by appointment only in order to try and keep waiting times to a minimum, although we will fit in genuine emergencies and urgent cases and therefore there may be a slight waiting time. We thank you for your patience should you have to wait.
Dermatology Referral Service
Service provided, by our specialist in veterinary dermatology, to other veterinary surgeons wishing to refer their own clients for further, more in-depth tests and diagnosis of chronic or complex skin complaints. For more information see Godiva Referrals.
Low Cost Vaccinations

FREE Nurses Clinics
Our qualified nurses and pet health counsellors offer a range of FREE one to one services and clinics for your pet including, diet and nutrition advice, obesity and geriatric clinics, stitches and bandage removal, dental checks, application of worming and flea products and general animal care and husbandry advice. Please telephone to book a FREE consultation with one of our nurses.
Neutering
At The Veterinary Centre we recommend your pet is neutered as soon as he or she is physically mature. A female dog can be spayed from the age of 6 months, greatly reducing the risk of unwanted or false pregnancies, mammary tumors and serious womb infections. Male dogs can be neutered from 5 months of age, this can help with aggression and dominance issues, straying, and reduce the risk of your pet developing prostate problems later in his life.
Both male and female cats can be neutered from 5 months of age. In male cats this can help reduce the desire to stray, spray mark his territory and fight other tom cats and reduce the risk of unwanted litters in females.
One of our nurses will be happy to give your pet a FREE pre-neutering check-up and discuss any concerns you may have with this procedure.
Microchipping
This involves a tiny chip (no bigger than a grain of rice) being injected under the skin in the same way your pet is vaccinated against disease. It is completely safe and causes no discomfort to your pet. Your pet can be microchipped from the age of 8 weeks. We recommend all pets are microchipped as it greatly increases the chance of your pet being reunited with his family should he stray or get lost. For more information on microchipping click here
